SP Gramona Vi De Glass Gewürztraminer Eiswein D.O. Penedès 375ml

This Eiswein is conceived along the lines of the famed icewines produced in Germany and Canada, there is a significant difference between Gramona Vi de Glass Gewürztraminer and the northern-climate icewines. While the latter are produced from naturally frozen grapes, this sweet Spanish white wine is made from grapes frozen in the cellar.

PROCESS: The winemaking process goes as follows. Once in the facilities of the Gramona winery, the overripe Gewürztraminer grapes, coming from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards, were frozen with liquid nitrogen until they reached a temperature of -15ºC.

APPEARANCE medium straw with some golden reflections.

NOSE: Pleasant and intense, this Gewürztraminer carries lively aromas of citrus, white fruit, Chinese plums, apricot, and lychee. There is a subtle floral background which suggests roses and blossom flowers.

PALATE Flavorful, elegant, and fresh, with a sweetness that is not oversweet, but perfectly balanced with a crisp acidity. On the palate, the fruit of this sweet wine from Gramona appears more syrupy, with a sort of tropical character. Silky, creamy texture, and excellent finish.
