In the foothills of the Montagne Noire, half-way between the mediaeval town of Carcassonne and the old Roman port in Narbonne, the Domaine de L’Ostal stretches across 150 hectares of land including 60 ha of vines and 25 ha of olive groves.
The Domaine de L’Ostal is situated in one of the finest terroirs of the Languedoc region and produces wines that infer the rich, powerful and noble terroirs of the local region:
VINTAGE: 2021
ALC: 13.5%
Grape varieties 60% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 20% Carignan
Tasting Notes Beautiful deep, bright red color reminiscent of black cherry. On the nose, we find the Mediterranean character of the different grape varieties: the fruity notes (blackcurrant, fresh fig, candied cherry) mingle with spicier notes (pepper, liquorice) and a hint of garrigue (thyme, rosemary, hint of lavender).
On the palate, the tannins are very supple and silky, the woodiness is well blended and brings a touch of sweet spices (vanilla, caramel) that respects the aromatic expression of the wine. The tasting ends with an impression of freshness thanks to a beautiful acid balance. A complex and elegant vintage that has a lot of charm.
PAIRING: Gazpacho, Italian cold meats (Coppa) Pork cheeks with olives and preserved lemon Cheese platter (goat, sheep, cow, etc.) Black Forest.
