Château Vrai Canon Bouché: Just a stone’s throw from the port of Libourne, the vineyard was more renowned during the 18th century than its prestigious neighbors Pomerol and Saint-Emilion. The 12-hectare Canon Fronsac vineyard of Chateau Vrai Canon Bouche is planted to 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc. The terroir is clay and limestone soils located on the peak of the Canon Fronsac plateau giving them slopes and elevations, which makes their vineyard unique in the appellation.

TASTING NOTES:
“A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc brought up in 50% new barrels, the floral, spicy, incredibly complex 2016 Château Vrai Canon Bouché offers vibrant acidity that’s balanced nicely by depth of fruit. Black cherries, blueberries, violets, and some candle wax notes all emerge from the glass. It’s going to benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for a decade or more.”
“This offers dark berries and cherries with a slight coal-smoke note. The palate has a riper edge with a wealth of plush and succulent tannins. Ripe finish. Drink or hold”
