FR Château La Verrière Bordeaux Supérieur Rouge

Demanding and passionate, Alain Bessette gave his father’s property the means to produce quality wines. Accessible and worn on the fruit, they tell the revolution undertaken in the vineyard and the cellar.

The red grapes are sorted on arrival at the winery, then vatted for the progress of the alcoholic fermentation. Controlled extraction (pumping over) and temperature control make it possible to obtain a sustained robe as well as high-quality tannins that are both silky and concentrated. After a maceration of 25 to 30 days, a malolactic fermentation is carried out. Then a barrel aging of about 12 months, will allow the revelation of all the qualities of the terroir.

Since 2012, Château La Verriere has embarked on an environmental approach by integrating the certification scope of the SME (Environmental Management System) and HVE (Exploitation of High Environmental Value).

APPEARANCE Beautiful deep purple colour.

NOSE Aromas of red cherries and blackberry, with smooth, powerful flavours of juicy raspberry and toasted notes from barrel ageing.

PALATE This wine has an excellent structure, silky tannins and a long, impressive finish.

AGEING Ageing in barrels, all medium toast, mostly French with some American ones. Racking every 3 months before bottling.

PAIRING It makes excellent accompaniment to beef, lamb, game and hard cheeses.

READINESS FOR DRINKING Ready to drink now, it has enough density to age well for at least the next 6 years.
